COURSE PREREQUISITES
|
PADI Open Water Diver certification,
Junior Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.
Minimum
of 12 years old. Students may be
required to provide Dive Log Book detailing dive experience.
SKILLS
|
In the Peak Performance
Buoyance Specialty Course divers will polish their buoyancy control
beyond the Open Water Diver level. The goal of PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy
training is to enhance the student diver diver’s buoyancy control abilities
through knowledge development and practical skills practice.
COURSE LAYOUT
|
Buoyancy skills separate the good divers from the great divers. In the Peak Performance
Buoyancy Specialty course, you will learn to how to precisely weight yourself
for optimum control, poise and balance. By mastering streamlining, you move
through the water cleanly, efficiently and gracefully. You swim near fragile
environments without harm to them or yourself.
Number of Dives: Two.
You complete Knowledge
Development on your own, reading the course manual and watching the
corresponding section of the video. You
briefly review what you studied with your instructor and take a final written
exam that make sure you’ve got all the key concepts and ideas down.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
|
Complete SCUBA
Including: Fins/Mask/Snorkel; Compressed
Gas Cylinder and Valve; Buoyancy Control Device (BCD) with Low Pressure Inflator;
Regulator and Alternate Air Source; Submersible Pressure Gauge (Monitoring
Device); Depth Gauge (Monitoring Device); Weight System and Weights; Adequate
Exposure Protection for Diving Conditions; At least 1 Audible Emergency Surface
Signalling Device.
