PADI ICE DIVING SPECIALTY

 

 

 

COURSE PREREQUISITES

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.

Minimum of 18 years old.

Students may be required to provide Dive Log Book detailing dive experience.

 

SKILLS

In the Ice Diver Specialty Course divers will learn the procedures and techniques for handling the problems and hazards of ice diving.  In this course you will explore the unique aquascape found only under ice.

 

COURSE LAYOUT

Number of Dives: XX

You complete Knowledge Development on your own, reading the course manual and watching the corresponding section of the video.  You briefly review what you studied with your instructor and take a final written exam that make sure you’ve got all the key concepts and ideas down.

 

COURSE INCLUDES

Course Manual and/or DVD.
PADI  Ice Diving Specialty Certification card.

10% student discount on purchase of any new equipment during the course and for 30 days after the course.

 

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

Complete SCUBA Including:  Fins/Mask/Snorkel; Compressed Gas Cylinder and Valve; Buoyancy Control Device (BCD) with Low Pressure Inflator; Regulator and Alternate Air Source; Submersible Pressure Gauge (Monitoring Device); Depth Gauge (Monitoring Device); Weight System and Weights; Adequate Exposure Protection for Diving Conditions; At least 1 Audible Emergency Surface Signalling Device.

Alternate Equipment that May Be Required Depending on Course:  Timing Device, U/W Compass, Dive Knife, 2 Diving Lights (a primary and a backup), Visual Surface Signaling Device, Timing Device.
