PADI ENRICHED AIR [Nitrox] DIVER SPECIALTY

COURSE PREREQUISITES

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification, Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.

Minimum of 15 years old.

Students may be required to provide Dive Log Book detailing dive experience [10 logged dives].

SKILLS

PADI Enriched Air Diver course helps you get more out of diving by giving you more time underwater.

Diving with enriched air nitrox lets you safely extend your no stop time beyond the no decompression limits for air. Diving with enriched air means more time underwater – but you need to be certified as an Enriched Air Diver to get enriched air fills.

COURSE LAYOUT

• Learn to analyze cylinder contents.
• Plan enriched air dives using tables and dive computers.
• Theory of no decompression diving with oxygen enriched air containing 22% to 40% oxygen.
• The emphasis is on diving with EANx32 and EANx36 also known as NOAA Nitrox I and II. Training will emphasize the importance of proper procedure to ensure safety, and realistically balance the pros and cons of enriched air diving. The instructor may elaborate to accommodate individual student interests and the aspects of enriched air diving unique to the local environment.
• Certification counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

Number of Dives: No requirements for dives but 2 dives are optional

You complete Knowledge Development on your own, reading the course manual and watching the corresponding section of the video. You briefly review what you studied with your instructor and take a final written exam that make sure you’ve got all the key concepts and ideas down.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

Complete SCUBA Including: Fins/Mask/Snorkel; Compressed Gas Cylinder and Valve; Buoyancy Control Device (BCD) with Low Pressure Inflator; Regulator and Alternate Air Source; Submersible Pressure Gauge (Monitoring Device); Depth Gauge (Monitoring Device); Weight System and Weights; Adequate Exposure Protection for Diving Conditions; At least 1 Audible Emergency Surface Signalling Device.
