COURSE PREREQUISITES
|
PADI Open
Water Diver certification, Junior Open Water certification or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years old. Students may be required to provide Dive Log
Book detailing dive experience.
SKILLS
|
In the Boat Diving Specialty
Course divers will learn procedures, problems, organization, hazards, techniques,
knowledge, and enjoyment of Boat Diving.
COURSE LAYOUT
|
The PADI Boat Diver Specialty
course reviews:
- The planning, organization, procedures,
techniques, problems and hazards of boat diving.
- Proper boat diving etiquette – storage of personal
equipment, personal conduct and considerations for boat care.
- Basic, common boat terminology.
- Specific boat diving laws and/or ordinances
as well as local boat diving laws and/or ordinances.
- Overview of emergency/safety equipment
needed on board private diving vessels.
- Certification counts toward the PADI Master
Scuba Diver rating.
Number of Dives: 2
You complete Knowledge
Development on your own, reading the course manual and watching the
corresponding section of the video. You
briefly review what you studied with your instructor and take a final written
exam that make sure you’ve got all the key concepts and ideas down.

PADI Boat
Diver Specialty Certification card.
10% student
discount on purchase of any new equipment during the course and for 30 days
after the course.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
|
Complete SCUBA
Including: Fins/Mask/Snorkel; Compressed
Gas Cylinder and Valve; Buoyancy Control Device (BCD) with Low Pressure
Inflator; Regulator and Alternate Air Source; Submersible Pressure Gauge
(Monitoring Device); Depth Gauge (Monitoring Device); Weight System and
Weights; Adequate Exposure Protection for Diving Conditions; At least 1 Audible
Emergency Surface Signalling Device.
